Be Aware of any website that is NOT thetackcollector.ca but contains items with our TC logo as that website is NOT Legit! We are not affiliated with any other Websites, Companies or Individuals other than us regular/original peeps.
Fake websites with stolen/lifted/scraped items are very quick and easy to make and you will NOT get what you paid for. If you are lucky you might get your credit card refunded, but that is not guaranteed.
Our website is more "clunky" with the Quote System, but not requiring up front - online website payment is proving to be a safe process. So reminder; we only request payment once you have confirmed all items & shipping (if requested) totals.
1st Time Site Visit? Increase your online shopping safety:
*look up the company address and research it:
*RED FLAGS: there isn't one or the one provided doesn't exist
*check the website using a WHOIS lookup tool
*flip through the whole website:
*RED FLAGS:
1) crazy $$'s *way to high! (1 crappy glove for $12?)
or way to low! (CWD saddle for $149? not $3250?)
2) out of place items, other companie's logos
3) very mismatched & inconsistent backgrounds
4) you saw that item on a different website
What can you do when you find these sites?
1) Don't make a purchase
2) Try to send an email. Quite often it is undeliverable
3) through the Whois lookup, send an email to the host
*usually listed as abuse@hostcompanyname
4) Let the company who's items have been scraped know
5) Use this information to file a report with the Fraud Center
