Level 1: Myler Bit Action – The horse bit rotates onto the horses tongue to apply tongue pressure and collapses back while preventing the horses lips and bars from being pinched. The bit curves to allow more room for the tongue and then the Myler bit has Independent side movement on most mouthpieces. Some of these bits have a barrel in the center of the bit that allows each side of the bit to move independently. This provides the horse a very clear signal when one rein or the other is lifted for contact. This bits help to finish the horse and assists with shoulder control and lateral flexion. Level one Myler Bits are best suited for young colts or green horses. Level one bits are perfect for horses just beginning training.
